Udated COVID-19 Guidelines
As you probably know, the number of active and new COVID-19 cases as well as the positivity rate have significantly decreased and remained low. In light of this and after consultation with local physicians the vestry has amended and loosened the guidelines currently in place at St. Philip’s.
Masks
Masks are now optional. In good Anglican fashion what that means is: All may, none must, some probably should. There is no one right answer for everyone. There is, however, a right answer for each one. Please consider your health, risk factors, age, vaccination status, and social environment and then decide what is right for you. Some will continue to wear a mask while others will not, and both are the right decision.
Choir
The choir will resume singing in the choir stalls November 28, 2021, The First Sunday of Advent.
Communion
Bread and wine will continue to be offered. We are not yet returning to drinking from the common cup. Wine will be offered only by intinction, as we are currently doing.
Responsibility
Please stay home if you have any symptoms whatsoever, even if the symptoms don’t match the usual COVID-19 symptoms, or if you have any suspicion of having been exposed to COVID-19. This is just one way of loving our neighbor as ourselves.
However
There’s always a however, right? We’ve waited and looked forward to this day for a long time. However, if our local situation changes and physicians suggest reinstating precautions the vestry and I will do so. We take seriously our responsibility to care for you. As I’ve said from the beginning of the pandemic, people come first.
