A Service In The Tradition Of Taizé

A Service in the Tradition of Taizé

“Be still and know that I am God.” Those words come from Psalm 46. They are an invitation to just be, to rest. In a world full of noise, busyness, schedules, and obligations they are important words. We need to not just hear them but live them. The moments of stillness an silence are when God speaks the loudest and clearest. St. John of the Cross said that silence is God’s first language.

On Sunday, March 1st at 6:00 p.m. the church will be filled with prayer, candlelight, the fragrance of God, silence, scripture, and singing. We will have an Evening Prayer service using the music and songs from the Taizé Community in France. It will be an opportunity to be still and know.

The words we read, hear, and sing will carry us into the stillness and silence which allows us to offer the best and most holy gift we have for God, our presence.

This will be a sacred evening in which we will “worship thee Lord in the beauty of holiness.” I hope you presence will be a part of the evening. — Fr. Mike
