Shrove Tuesday – 2021 Style

Remember those delicious mouthwatering pancakes the men prepare each year on Shrove Tuesday? You can still enjoy them this year even though we won’t be gathering and eating together. This year’s Shrove Tuesday celebration will consist of a Drop Off, Pick Up, and Log On. We will need help on Tuesday, packaging the pancake mix and helping with drop-offs/deliveries and burning the palms and preparing the ashes for Ash Wednesday. Please let Cyndy know if you would like to assist.

This is how it will work:

When: Tuesday, February 16th 

Drop-Off/Pick-Up Location: The parking lot between Briscoe Hall and the Labyrinth. Please enter from Mesquite street through the alley (as the school does for drop-offs and pick-ups) anytime between 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Drop Off: Your Food Pantry non-perishable donations and your old palm crosses for the burning of the palms.

Pick Up: Your famous “St. Philip’s Pancake Mix” and your bulletin for the Burning of the Palms Liturgy.

Log On: Go to the St. Philip’s Facebook page for the “Live” Burning of the Palms at 7:00 p.m.
