Women Serving the Church Through Prayer, Service and Evangelism
On October 11th and 12th, the St. Philip’s Daughter of the King hosted the Diocesan Fall Gathering here at St. Philip’s. About 23 ladies attended throughout the weekend.
The weekend began with Holy Eucharist on Friday followed by a wonderful dinner in Briscoe Hall.
Saturday we had a continental breakfast and then toured the Children’s Bereavement Center, led by Brenda Faulkner. She explained all the ways they are helping kids who have lost a loved one or experienced other trauma.
The last session was given by Father Mike Marsh. One question asked of Father Mike, was, What does love look like? He gave the analogy of a spider web and described connections and relationships that have been made since the tragedy in 2022. Just an eye opening talk.
As Daughters of the King we are to uphold and bear the cross for our Lord. We meet once a month to pray, and to see how we can serve and help others. We would love new members! If you’re interested just let us know! Thanks – Tane McGehee
What is Daughters of the King?
The Order of the Daughters of the King is an order for women who are communicants of the Episcopal Church who serve as an extension of Christ’s Kingdom through Prayer, Service and Evangelism.
Empowered by the Holy Spirit, our vision as Daughters of the King is to know Jesus Christ, to make Him known to others, and to become reflections of God’s love throughout the world.
