Uvalde Needs You At Evening Prayer This Friday!

Uvalde Needs You At Evening Prayer this Friday!

I don’t often tell you want to do or make requests of you. I usually ask questions and make offers or invitations. Today, however, I am asking you to come to Evening Prayer this Friday, May 24, at 5:30 p.m. I want you to be there and Uvalde needs you to be there.

If you want to know why, look at the faces below and you’ll see twenty-one reasons.

This Friday we will remember their deaths and commit to live differently. We will remember the value of their lives and reprioritize the values in our lives. We will remember, not only for the sake of the past, but also for the healing, well-being, and future of Uvalde.

Two years ago this Friday Uvalde experienced the unimaginable. Every day since then we have borne the unbearable. And today you and I must bear witness, not just to what happened but to what might be.

We are the ones who can make a change. We are responsible not only for the memories of those who died, we are also responsible for what we do with those memories. This Friday is your opportunity to do something with their memories.

Let’s not take this Friday or any other day for granted. Let’s do something to make a difference.

I look forward to being with you this Friday. Evening Prayer begins at 5:30 p.m. in the church. Other activities and events earlier in the day begin at 11:30 a.m. at St. Philip’s. (See Below.) All are welcome!

God’s peace be with you,
Mike+
