Highlights from DWTX Council 2024

The 120th Council of the DWTX convened in San Marcos February 22 – 24th in San Marcos, Texas. This year’s delegation from St. Philip’s included Darrell & Lory Zimmerman, Randy Harris, Sharon Carson, and Cyndy Marsh. Kelley Kimble, the diocesan chancellor, and Fr. Mike were also in attendance representing St. Philip’s. This was the first council for our newly elected Rt. Rev. Dr. David G. Read.

It was a busy few days as we heard diocesan ministry reports, attended informational workshops, elected new diocesan leaders, and conducted the annual business of the diocese. If you missed council online or if you have never been to council here’s a great opportunity to see what happens at Council. In light of the tragedy of May 24th, the diocese sent a team to Uvalde to produce a video report highlighting the healing work being done through St. Philip’s and the Children’s Bereavement Center.
