Crossroads Academy Outreach Continues

Crossroads Academy Outreach Continues

I am happy to say that we are partnering with Crossroads Academy again this year. It has just taken us a little time to get started as the year began so differently! But we have our first project and we need your help to get started.

The project that we have agreed to help with is what they are calling the Self-Care Challenge. The students are encouraged to complete the self-care opportunities found in the challenge. It’s a pretty cool challenge and I think will really benefit the students. So, where do we come in? We will be providing a number of prizes to the school each month for the students who complete the challenge. Father Mike and I discussed the most helpful prizes we could provide and decided on gift cards to various places around town. Obviously, HEB and Wal-Mart would be super helpful for these families but we also thought GCs to different restaurants around town would be fun and different for the students.

Here is how you can help:

  • Purchase gift cards (HEB, Wal-Mart or Restaurants, etc.)
  • Drop off gift cards and prizes each month to the school (this drop-off can be done in a contactless way if you are not comfortable going inside the building)
  • Monetary donations.

If you would like to help e-mail me or call the church office and I will get in touch with you. I will add you to the list and assign you to a month.  This challenge will begin in October – so the first prizes will need to be available at the end of October and then each month after that.

I think it’s so important that we use this “unique” time in our world to continue our outreach to not only help the school but to also help ourselves feel grounded and to remember that even during all of this isolation, there is still a world going on and we can still help.

Thank you all so much for your help and continued interest in this outreach project. Please let me know if you would like to help with this monthly challenge or have any other thoughts or ideas! Thank you and have a blessed day! — Jennifer Williams
