St. Philip’s Welcomes Deacon For Six Months

St. Philip’s Welcomes Deacon for Six Months

A little more than a year ago Mr. Arnoldo Romero came to St. Philip’s as our field education student. For the past three years Arnoldo has been studying in the diocesan Iona Collaborative.

The Iona Collaborative is a three year program of education and formation for people preparing to be ordained as bi-vocational priests.

On Saturday, June 13, Arnoldo will be ordained a deacon in the Episcopal Church. Later that month we will welcome The Rev. Arnoldo Romero to St. Philip’s. Bishop Reed has assigned him to be our deacon for the next six months. After that he will, God willing and the people consenting, be ordained a priest of the Church.

Arnoldo and I are still working out his schedule and duties but you can look forward to seeing him most Sundays of the month and a few weekdays each month.

I am grateful for Arnoldo and his faithfulness to this calling, and I look forward to working with him.

God’s peace be with you,

Mike+
